Grief Recovery Method® Mental Health Support Services

Life feels hard when your emotions are calling the plays.

Grief Recovery Method® –
Mental Health
Support Services

Supporting a child—or even yourself—through emotional pain can feel overwhelming. When your child walks in the door upset, withdrawn, or angry, you may not know what to say or how they might respond. Many parents struggle to communicate during emotional hardship, especially when they feel unprepared to offer comfort.

Most families dream of creating a peaceful and connected home—sharing meals, meaningful conversations, family time, and watching their children thrive. But when grief touches your home, that dream can feel out of reach.

I provide faith-based mental health support services through the Grief Recovery Method®, offering non-clinical guidance and structured support to help individuals and families navigate loss, strengthen communication, and rebuild connection. These services support emotional and mental well-being while remaining distinct from therapy or licensed clinical treatment.

Instead of working directly with children, this program empowers you—the parent,  caregiver,  educator, ministry leader or trusted adult—to guide the young people in your life through their emotional experiences in a healthy, supportive, and compassionate way.

This program provides non-clinical mental health support education and guidance, helping adults understand how to respond to children's grief, encourage emotional expression, and create safe environments for healing.

  • Parents & Guardians

  • Teachers

  • School Counselors

  • Youth Pastors

  • Daycare Providers

  • Camp Directors

  • Youth Program Leaders

  • Child-serving Professionals

  • Corporate Offices with Employee Assistance Programs

  • Anyone responsible for supporting children or teens through emotional experiences

This program also serves as excellent professional development or mental health–related support training for staff who work with children or youth. This program does not include direct sessions with children; all guidance and support are provided to adults only.

Why Helping Children With Loss Matters

Children are deeply impacted by loss, even when they don’t have the words to express it. This program empowers adults to:

  • Build healthier communication with children

  • Offer emotional and mental health support confidently

  • Reduce harmful coping patterns

  • Promote emotional resilience and wellness

  • Create safer, more connected environments at home, school, and community settings

What We Do in the Helping Children With Loss Program

The program is delivered over four (4) weekly group meetings, each lasting two and a half hours. Sessions are available virtually or in person to accommodate families, schools, churches, and organizations.

During this training, your Certified Grief Recovery Specialist® will guide you through the proven concepts and practical tools from When Children Grieve. This interactive program helps adults understand how children experience loss and how to confidently support them through difficult emotions.

Throughout the four weeks, you will:

  • Work through real-life examples and common emotional scenarios children face

  • Learn how to listen to a child’s feelings with empathy and understanding

  • Practice supportive responses that foster healthy emotional expression

  • Gain strategies to assist children during times of grief or emotional stress

  • Develop long-term tools that promote resilience and emotional wellness in children

By the end of the program, you will be equipped with clear steps and compassionate communication techniques that help children navigate emotionally painful experiences in healthy, meaningful ways.

Benefits of the Program

By the end of the four weeks, you will:

  • Feel equipped to support children through grief and emotional challenges

  • Understand how to respond to tough questions and big feelings with calm and clarity

  • Gain practical tools you can use immediately in your home, school, church, or community

  • Help create safe, supportive environments where children feel seen, heard, and understood
