Grief Recovery

Life feels hard when your emotions are calling the plays.

When your child comes inside of the house, you feel like you don’t know what to say. How will your child respond today?

It’s a persistent challenge to communicate with your child when they are hurting, and you don’t know what to do. And you are not sure if you have the words or gestures to provide comfort.

Your dream of the picture-perfect family includes eating dinner together and having wholesome conversations, going on family vacations, or watching your child in afterschool programs seems like an impossible reality. I can help you to help navigate your child through difficult seasons in their lives.

Introduction to the Grief Recovery Method

My support groups offer a safe, evidence-based environment for grievers to take effective and lasting action, no matter the type of loss experienced. The individual program is for those who prefer to work face to face instead of in a group setting. Group support groups offer a safe, evidence-based environment for grievers to become complete in their grief. As a GRM Specialist, I am specifically trained and certified to create a safe environment for you to discover and complete the emotional pain you have been carrying surrounding a loss in your life. I am your “heart with ears” to listen and support you throughout the Grief Recovery Method, without any judgments, criticisms, or comparing losses.

Emotional Loss

The grief that comes with any emotional loss can be hard and make you feel alone. Often people find that those they normally count on for emotional support are at a total loss when it comes to offering effective and meaningful assistance.

Grief is Emotional!

They will often give you logical reasons why you should not feel bad, but that rarely helps. Grief is emotional and not logical! You are suffering from a broken heart, not a broken head!

Seeking Help

The fact that you are seeking help in dealing with that emotional pain is not a sign of weakness, but rather a recognition on your part that you are interested in taking recovery action!

The creation of the Helping Children With Loss Program, by the Grief Recovery Institute, has changed that. Now you can learn tools that will not only help them today but for the rest of their lives as well. They will also have to proper tools to cope with whatever grief may impact their lives and later to pass on to their children as well. Your participation in this program can make a real difference for generations to come!

Who is Helping Children with Loss Program for:

  • Parents/Guardians

  • Teachers

  • School counselors

  • Camp Directors

  • Youth Pastors

  • Daycare Providers

  • Business Owners

  • Corporate Offices with Employee Assistance Programs

This makes an excellent professional development program or emotional wellness training for staff members.

Stop and think for a moment about what you learned on how to cope with emotionally painful events when you were a child. The chances are that your parents gave you a list of logical sounding reasons why you should not feel sad. Did any of those reasons honestly make you feel any better? Probably not!

The problem is that grief is emotional, not logical.

More likely than not, you probably learned to hide those painful feelings deep inside, rather than express them, because no matter what anyone said, you never really felt any better! This not because your parents or elders were trying to pass on misinformation to you. They were simply passing on to you the same things they were told as children! Up until now, there was really no useful information that parents could learn about how to effectively help their children successfully deal with the pain of a broken heart!
